A leader among corporate universities in terms of company investment to promote employee competencies, Applied Global University (AGU) is organized to provide all job groups training that meets Applied Materials' business requirements. AGU is, in turn, organized into 10 institutes to provide specialized training aligned to company requirements. Applied Materials three ETP contracts were designed with extreme flexibility in mind.

Funds supported training across all job functions and learning disciplines for over 1,000 training topics. The current approved curriculum includes a variety of training types including professional development, management development, continuous improvement, technology, and manufacturing skills. Both on-line and instructor led training methodologies will be offered and AGU will be reimbursed for employees who receive anywhere between 40 and 200 hours of instruction over a 20 month period.
