December 15, 2023: Abbott Vascular wins workforce training funding from the State of California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP)

ETP funding will partially subsidize direct employee training costs for AV sponsored courses delivered in Santa Clara, Menlo Park and Temecula.  Chris Hall of Menlo Park made the presentation and received unanimous approval from the eight-member ETP board.

The focus of this application is to provide training for frontline manufacturing staff involved in production, quality control, and inventory systems.   A major goal is to institutionalize Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that Abbott products meet specific requirements for identity, strength, quality, and purity to produce the next Generation Products.  The critical manufacturing skills training proposed will expand trainee skills, enabling them to work in an advanced manufacturing setting (clean room), as well as to adapt to changing business requirements to meet regulatory and customer needs.   ETP-funded training will provide skills in new manufacturing processes, stricter quality control standards, installation of new medical device manufacturing equipment and software upgrades in manufacturing.
